    Salt Lake Temple

    Your eye rests on the largest Latter-day Saint temple by floor area, dedicated in Utah in 1893. This temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was dedicated in 1893 after a construction period of 40 years.

    Salt Lake Tabernacle

    Picture the domed hall once known as the Mormon Tabernacle, famed for its acoustics and its pipe organ here in Utah. It was built from 1863 to 1875 to house meetings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and construction work is also described as occurring between 1864 and 1867 on the west center-line axis of the Salt Lake Temple.

  • Designed by architect Richard K.A. Kletting in a renaissance revival style, construction of the capitol building began in 1913, and was completed July 3rd, 1915. The total cost of construction totaled 2.7 million dollars, an equivalent to 63.5 million dollars in 2012. The building houses various levels of Utah government, including the House of Representatives and the Senate. The Supreme Court has a dedicated chamber in the east wing of the building, but conducts most of its business in the Scott M. Matheson Courthouse in downtown Salt Lake City.
    Utah State Capitol

    Richard K.A. Kletting designed the Utah State Capitol, the house of government for the U.S. state of Utah. From here you face a Neoclassical revival, Corinthian style building designed by Richard K.A. Kletting and built between 1912 and 1916.

    LDS Conference Center

    Salt Lake City's LDS Conference Center opened in 2000. In Salt Lake City, Utah, this premier meeting hall for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was completed in 2000 and replaced the traditional use of the nearby Salt Lake Tabernacle, built in 1868, for the church’s twice-yearly general conference and other major gatherings, devotionals, and events.
