    Clinton Presidential Center

The William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum cantilevers toward the Arkansas River in front of you. This is the presidential library of Bill Clinton, who served as the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001.

  • Little Rock Central High School

Little Rock Central High School, an accredited comprehensive public high school in Little Rock, Arkansas, rises in front of you. This building was the site of the Little Rock Crisis in 1957, after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that segregation by race in public schools was unconstitutional three years earlier — a moment in the period of heightened activism known as the civil rights movement.

  • Front view
    Arkansas Governor's Mansion

Arkansas' governor and first family live here at 1800 Center Street, in the official residence known as the Arkansas Governor's Mansion. This house anchors the Governor's Mansion Historic District and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

    Arkansas State Capitol

Atop Capitol Hill, at the eastern end of the Capitol Mall in Little Rock, the Arkansas State Capitol houses the Arkansas General Assembly and the seat of the state government. Imagine how this place began as an idea: in 1899 St. Louis architect George R. Mann brought drawings to Governor Daniel W. Jones — designs he had first won with in 1896 for the Montana State Capitol in Helena.

  • Metropolitan National Bank Tower in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas with Regions Center in the background.
    Metropolitan National Bank Tower

Above you at 425 West Capitol Avenue rises a 40-story skyscraper, the tallest building in Arkansas. At 547 feet (167 m) it is the tallest building in Arkansas.
