Highlights

  • FNB Field from behind home plate
    FNB Field

Baseball came to this spot in 1907, and FNB Field now holds it, here on City Island in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This is the home field of the Harrisburg Senators, the Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Washington Nationals, and was the home stadium of Penn FC of the USL.

  • The Maclay Street entrance to the Farm Show Expo Center
Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center

Picture the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center, formerly the State Farm Show Arena, known simply as the Farm Show. This large exhibition center and indoor arena in Harrisburg is primarily used for concerts, agricultural exhibitions, the Pennsylvania Farm Show and indoor football, and it hosts more than 200 other exhibits and trade shows every year.

  • East portal of the Pennsylvania State Capitol at sunset with Speaker K. Leroy Irvis Office Building in front
    Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex

Notice the sprawling Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex, spread across more than 50 acres of downtown Harrisburg. Its centerpiece is the Pennsylvania State Capitol, constructed in 1902–1906 to a design by Joseph Miller Huston; the capitol is a nationally recognized example of Beaux Arts architecture, famed for its interior opulence and artwork.

  • Harrisburg and Susquehanna River Aerial - June 2016 (51145383312).jpg
    City Island

Out in the Susquehanna River between Harrisburg and Wormleysburg, City Island stretches a mile long under your feet. Right where you stand the island is used mainly for leisure and sports activities, but its story runs much deeper than a day of recreation.

  • National Civil War Museum

Reservoir Park in Harrisburg's Allison Hill neighborhood holds the National Civil War Museum at One Lincoln Circle. This privately owned, 501c(3) nonprofit was founded to promote the preservation of material culture and sources directly relevant to the American Civil War and the postwar period, especially as they relate to veterans' service organizations such as the Grand Army of the Republic and the United Confederate Veterans.
